Visiting Guidelines
- Each incarcerated individual is authorized one (1) visit per week, Sunday to Saturday. All visits are a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Any extension must be approved by the Director, Deputy Director, Security Chief, Administrative Captain or Shift Leader.
- Visitors must be registered at least one-half hour (30 minutes) prior to the end of each visitation session.
- New incarcerated individuals will not receive visits while on receiving status.
- Effective March 2nd, 2018, female incarcerated individuals assigned to general population visits shall be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This time change is only temporary until further notice.
- No general population visits will be authorized during Segregation visiting hours.
- Incarcerated Individuals housed on segregation are responsible for notifying their approved visitors of their status and visiting hours.
- No exceptions will be made to visiting schedules.
- Legal/professional visits will not be unreasonably restricted
Video Visitation
Effective 04-27-2018, inmates in E Unit, F1, F2, East Wing, H1, will no longer receive Face-to-face (in-person) visitation, unless approved by Director/Designee. All visitations for these units will be done through Video Visitation. Visitors must register and schedule visitations at www.icsolutions.com.
Effective 05-01-2018, inmates in W1, W4, W6, and WF4, will no longer receive Face-to-face (in-person) visitation, unless approved by Director/Designee. All visitations for these units will be done through Video Visitation. Visitors must register and schedule visitations at www.icsolutions.com.

Inmates in East Wing, H1, W4, and W6 may also receive one off-site video visit per day. Off-site video visits can be done anywhere in the world with a Windows or Android operating device and an internet connection. Apple and iOS products are currently not supported.
Off-site video visits are at a cost of $7.50 per visit, and funded by visitors. Howard County Department of Corrections receives no commissions for these services.

Rules and Regulations While Visiting the Facility
The Howard County Department of Corrections requests your cooperation by complying with the following rules and regulations while visiting the facility.
- Visitors must present a valid drivers license, or government issued photo ID and provide a valid address when registering for a visit. Expired ID will not be accepted.
- A maximum of two (2) adults and two (2) children (under 18 years of age) shall be permitted at a time. All minor children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, unless otherwise approved by the Security Chief or higher.
- All minor children must remain with the parent or legal guardian at all times.
- Visitors may only visit with one inmate at a time.
- Radios, cell phones and other electronics may not be used while inside the visiting area.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the facility.
- Food/drinks are not permitted in the visiting area and must be disposed of before entering the area.
- No coats, backpacks, bags, boxes, parcels, or packages of any kind are allowed into the visiting area. Free lockers are provided.
- Loitering/wandering in the visiting area is not permitted. Visitors must remain in the lobby area until called for the visit. Once a visitor enters the visiting area they may not leave and return to the lobby area until the visit is complete.
- Appropriate dress is required. Visitors must be fully clothed and wear shoes. Appropriate attire is expected of all visitors. Examples of inappropriate attire include tops that are see-through, extremely low cut (no cleavage), sleeveless (tops must have some type of sleeve cropped, short or long, no tank, tube, spaghetti or halters tops) shoulders and stomachs must be covered. Inappropriate bottoms include see-through or does not come to the finger tip. Dresses must be meet the same requirements of the tops and bottoms but must not be too revealing. Any piece of clothing that has derogatory statements or graphics are prohibited. No head gear. No sunglasses.
- Visitors who do not comply with the facility policies regarding public and professional visits will have their visit ended and may be denied further approval to enter the facility.
