ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to stabilize sections of the stream along Woodland Road near MD 108 and Old Annapolis Road in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, November 27th. The project will include stabilizing sections of the stream using wood and rock structures, along with bio-engineering plantings to re-establish a more natural stream and reduce instream erosion. Also, any area disturbed by the construction will be replanted upon completion of the project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.

While the project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area, signs will be posted near the project site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-4400 will carry details and updates.

Once complete, the project will help protect the newly upgraded sewer mains from future stream erosion and prevent the migration of the stream both horizontally and vertically.
