Thunder Hill Elementary and Thunder Hill PTA are proud to announce the successful hosting of a series of engaging community events, made possible by the Youth Engagement Programming grant received from Howard County Executive Calvin Ball's office. This grant funding has been instrumental in sustaining and expanding our afterschool enrichment programs and fostering strong connections within our school community throughout the past year.
Thanks to this support, we successfully hosted a variety of vibrant events that brought together our students, families, and the community. These included a welcoming back-to-school picnic to start the year, an exciting fall festival and trunk-or-treat enjoyed by many, a festive winter wonderland that brightened the colder months, an engaging reading night promoting literacy, a vibrant international night celebrating our diverse cultures, and a lively Thunderbird Bash.
Beyond these community-wide events, the grant also bolstered several ongoing student programs. We were able to offer math enrichment to enhance academic skills, and foster leadership and teamwork through clubs like the TNT Steppers, Kings Club, Queens Court, and Student Government.
These events and programs have played a key role in enriching the student experience and strengthening family and community involvement, directly aligning with the goals of the Youth Engagement Programming grant.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our community engagement efforts and will be hosting more events for the 2025-2026 school year!
